เมื่อวันที่ 28 พฤษภาคมที่ผ่านมา เว็บไซต์เดอะไมอามี่เฮรัลด์ รายงานว่า เกิดเหตุสุดโหดขึ้นในเมืองไมอามี่ของสหรัฐฯ เมื่อเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจได้รัวกระสุนยิงหนุ่มเปลือยรายหนึ่งจนเสียชีวิต หลังหนุ่มเปลือยรายนี้ก่อเหตุสุดคลั่ง กัดแทะเนื้อบริเวณใบหน้าของชายเคราะห์ร้ายอยู่ริมถนน และไม่ยอมจำนนต่อเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจที่ยิงเพื่อยับยั้งไปก่อนหน้านี้ 1 นัด

รายงานระบุว่า เหตุการณ์นี้เกิดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 26 พฤษภาคมที่ผ่านมา บนถนนฟรีเวย์ทางตอนใต้ของเมืองไมอามี รัฐฟลอริดาของสหรัฐฯ เมื่อหญิงรายหนึ่งได้พบเห็นชายสองคนกำลังต่อสู้กันอยู่ริมถนน จึงแจ้งตำรวจที่ประจำอยู่บริเวณนั้นมาดูที่เกิดเหตุ และหลังจากเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจนำกำลังมาถึง ก็พบชายเปลือยกำลังต่อสู้กับชายอีกรายหนึ่ง และดูเหมือนว่าชายเปลือยจะเป็นต่อด้านพละกำลังเสียด้วย เพราะเขาสามารถทำร้ายชายผู้เคราะห์ร้ายให้บาดเจ็บและนอนแน่นิ่งไม่ไหวติง ก่อนจะกัดแทะเข้าที่ใบหน้าของคู่กรณีไม่ยั้ง เหมือนกำลังจะเคี้ยวเนื้อบนใบหน้ากินอย่างบ้าคลั่ง ทำให้เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจต้องตะโกนบอกให้เขาหยุดการกระทำอันน่าสยดสยองนั้นทันที

แต่แม้ว่าตำรวจจะพยายามข่มขู่อย่างไร ทางด้านชายเปลือยก็ไม่ได้สนใจอะไรสักนิด กลับเดินหน้ากัดแทะใบหน้าของชายคู่กรณีต่อโดยไม่ฟังเสียงตำรวจ ทำให้ตำรวจต้องชักปืนขึ้นมายิงชายเปลือยคลั่งรายนี้ 1 นัด แต่ก็ไม่ได้ทำให้ชายเปลือยสะทกสะท้านแต่อย่างใด เขายังคงพยายามกัดแทะใบหน้าคู่กรณีต่อไป ทำให้ตำรวจตัดสินใจรัวกระสุนไปอีก 5 นัด จนชายเปลือยรายนี้เสียชีวิตในที่เกิดเหตุ ขณะที่ชายผู้ตกเป็นเหยื่อนั้น ได้รับการช่วยเหลือจากตำรวจในการนำตัวเขาส่งโรงพยาบาลทันที และตอนนี้อาการยังสาหัส

จากการตรวจสอบ เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจสันนิษฐานว่า ชายเปลือยคลั่งรายนี้มีอาการคลั่งจากโคเคน ซึ่งส่งผลให้อุณหภูมิในร่างกายร้อนขึ้นจนเขาต้องถอดเสื้อผ้า และคลั่งกัดแทะหน้าชายอีกคนหนึ่งซึ่งคาดจะเป็นชายเร่ร่อนที่เดินอยู่ในบริเวณนั้น

สำนักข่าวต่างประเทศ รายงานเมื่อวันที่ 19 พ.ค.ว่า ศูนย์ควบคุมและป้องกันโรคแห่งชาติของสหรัฐฯ หรือ "ซีดีซี" ออกประกาศเตือนสาธารณชนชาวอเมริกันให้เตรียมพร้อมรับมือภัยคุกคามจาก "ซอมบี้" หรือพวกซากศพที่ถูกทำให้มีชีวิตขึ้นมาอีกครั้ง

รายงานข่าวระบุว่า ซีดีซี สร้างความฮือฮาครั้งใหญ่ หลังมีการออกคู่มือฉบับที่ 101 เตือนให้ประชาชนเตรียมพร้อมรับมือภัยคุกคามจากซอมบี้ โดยทางซีดีซียืนยันว่า การจัดทำคู่มือฉบับดังกล่าวมิใช่เรื่องตลกแต่อย่างใด เนื่องจากข้อมูลและคำแนะนำต่างๆ ภายในล้วนมีประโยชน์สำหรับประชาชนหากเกิดสถานการณ์ที่ไม่คาดฝันขึ้น

อา ลี ข่าน หนึ่งในผู้เชี่ยวชาญของซีดีซีที่อยู่เบื้องหลังการจัดทำคู่มือฉบับนี้ระบุว่า ประชาชนชาวอเมริกันควรจัดหาน้ำดื่ม อาหาร ยารักษาโรค เสื้อผ้า วิทยุที่ใช้พลังงานแบตเตอรี่ ชุดปฐมพยาบาล มาเตรียมไว้ให้เพียงพอ รวมถึงควรรวบรวมเอกสารสำคัญต่างๆ เข้าไว้ด้วยกัน

ข่าวระบุว่า คำแนะนำต่างๆ ถูกจัดทำขึ้นสำหรับช่วยให้ชาวอเมริกันนำไปใช้ในการเอาชีวิตรอดให้ได้ในยาม ที่พวกซอมบี้ออกอาละวาด จนกว่าแต่ละครอบครัวจะสามารถเดินทางออกไปยังค่ายผู้อพยพของรัฐบาลที่เป็น "เขตปลอดซอมบี้" ได้

ด้านเดฟ เดเกิล โฆษกของซีดีซีระบุว่า คู่มือดังกล่าวที่มีการนำไปโพสต์ไว้ในบล็อกของซีดีซี ได้รับความสนใจจากประชาชนอย่างมาก และทางซีดีซีเชื่อว่า การออกคู่มือเกี่ยวกับการเตรียมตัวรับมือซอมบี้ สามารถเรียกความสนใจจากประชาชนได้มากกว่าการออกคำแนะนำธรรมดาๆ กรณีเกิดภัยพิบัติ ทั้งที่ในความเป็นจริงแล้ว คำแนะนำต่างๆ ในคู่มือฉบับนี้ก็มิได้แตกต่างจากคำแนะนำในการรับมือภัยธรรมชาติทั่วไปแต่อย่างใด.

เอเอฟพี - สำนักข่าวซินหวาของจีนออกมายืนยัน (27 พ.ค.) ว่าชายผู้หนึ่งที่ถูกเจ้าหน้าที่จับกุม หลังถูกต้องสงสัยว่าสังหารโหดชาวบ้านไป 11 รายเป็นเรื่องจริง ตีแผ่กระแส “ปีศาจกินเนื้อคน” ไปทั่วโลก

รายงานข่าวจากจีนและฮ่องกงเผย (25 พ.ค.) ว่านายจัง หย่งหมิง วัย 56 ปี เป็นผู้ต้องสงสัยคดีฆาตกรรมโหดในเมืองคุนหมิง นายจังผู้นี้ต้องคดีฆ่าคนมาก่อนแล้วและถูกพิพากษาให้ถูกจำคุกตลอดชีวิต แต่ไม่รู้เหตุใดหลังถูกจองจำได้ 18 ปี ก็ได้รับการปล่อยตัวออกมาเมื่อปี 2540 และเขาก็ก่อคดีฆ่าคนโดยนำศพมาสับเป็นท่อนแบ่งขายให้กับลูกค้าในตลาด

สื่อจีนปกติจะไม่ถูกปิดกั้นด้านการรายงานข่าวคดีอาชญากรรมที่ไม่เกี่ยวกับการเมือง ขณะนี้หลายฝ่ายคงยังไม่เข้าใจว่า คดีนี้ซึ่งไม่เกี่ยวกับการเมือง เหตุใดจึงถูกทางการจีนปิดกั้นการ.เข้าถึง

ทั้งนี้อาจเป็นเพราะประเด็นการกินเนื้อคนเป็นเรื่องอ่อนไหวในจีน เพราะเคยเกิดขึ้นในยุคสมัยที่ประชาชนอดอยาก ดังเช่นในยุคเริ่มต้นขับดันการปฏิวัติอุตสาหกรรมของจีนช่วงปลายทศวรรษ 1950

รายงานข่าวฯ อ้างถึงกระทรวงพิทักษ์สันติราษฎร์ระบุว่า “หลักฐานเกี่ยวกับซากชิ้นส่วนและการเปรียบเทียบดีเอ็นเอบ่งชี้ว่า นายจัง หย่งหมิง แห่งหมู่บ้านหนานเหมิน อำเภอจิ้นหนิง ได้สังหารโหดเหยื่อไป 11 ราย”

“หลังจากการสังหารแล้ว นายจังใช้วิธีการหลากหลาย ตั้งแต่การตัดแขนตัดขา เผา ฝัง เพื่อทำลายหลักฐาน”

เล่ากันว่า นายจังมักจะดักรอเหยื่อที่เดินมาคนเดียวใกล้กับบริเวณบ้านของเขาและเข้าจู่โจม

“เดอะสแตนดาร์ด” หนังสือพิมพ์ในฮ่องกงเผยว่า เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจพบลูกตามนุษย์ดองเหล้าอยู่ในโถ ตลอดจนเนื้อคนแขวนตากแห้งอยู่ในบ้านนายจัง

ตำรวจสงสัยกันว่า นายจังเลี้ยงสุนัข 3 ตัวด้วยเนื้อและกระดูกคน ขณะที่แบ่งขายเนื้อคนในท้องตลาดด้วย โดยอ้างว่าเป็นเนื้อนกกระจอกเทศ

เมื่อวันอาทิตย (27 พ.ค.) สำนักข่าวซินหวารายงานโดยอ้างแถลงของกระทรวงพิทักษ์สันติราษฎร์ว่า รัฐบาลจะได้ทำงานกับท้องถิ่นเพื่อลงโทษเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจที่ละเลยการปฏิบัติหน้าที่ ขณะที่ชาวเน็ตแสดงความผิดหวัง ว่าเจ้าหน้าที่ไม่เร่งจัดการปัญหาแต่เนิ่นๆ เป็นเหตุให้เกิดคดีเขย่าขวัญเช่นนี้

"If zombies did start roaming the streets, CDC would conduct an investigation much like any other disease outbreak. CDC would provide technical assistance to cities, states, or international partners dealing with a zombie infestation. This assistance might include consultation, lab testing and analysis, patient management and care, tracking of contacts, and infection control (including isolation and quarantine). It's likely that an investigation of this scenario would seek to accomplish several goals: determine the cause of the illness, the source of the infection/virus/toxin, learn how it is transmitted and how readily it is spread, how to break the cycle of transmission and thus prevent further cases, and how patients can best be treated. Not only would scientists be working to identify the cause and cure of the zombie outbreak, but CDC and other federal agencies would send medical teams and first responders to help those in affected areas (I will be volunteering the young nameless disease detectives for the field work).

There are all kinds of emergencies out there that we can prepare for. Take a zombie apocalypse for example. That’s right, I said z-o-m-b-i-e a-p-o-c-a-l-y-p-s-e. You may laugh now, but when it happens you’ll be happy you read this, and hey, maybe you’ll even learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency.

A Brief History of Zombies
We’ve all seen at least one movie about flesh-eating zombies taking over (my personal favorite is Resident Evil), but where do zombies come from and why do they love eating brains so much? The word zombie comes from Haitian and New Orleans voodoo origins. Although its meaning has changed slightly over the years, it refers to a human corpse mysteriously reanimated to serve the undead. Through ancient voodoo and folk-lore traditions, shows like the Walking Dead were born.

In movies, shows, and literature, zombies are often depicted as being created by an infectious virus, which is passed on via bites and contact with bodily fluids. Harvard psychiatrist Steven Schlozman wrote a (fictional) medical paper on the zombies presented in Night of the Living Dead and refers to the condition as Ataxic Neurodegenerative Satiety Deficiency Syndrome caused by an infectious agent. The Zombie Survival Guide identifies the cause of zombies as a virus called solanum. Other zombie origins shown in films include radiation from a destroyed NASA Venus probe (as in Night of the Living Dead), as well as mutations of existing conditions such as prions, mad-cow disease, measles and rabies.

The rise of zombies in pop culture has given credence to the idea that a zombie apocalypse could happen. In such a scenario zombies would take over entire countries, roaming city streets eating anything living that got in their way. The proliferation of this idea has led many people to wonder “How do I prepare for a zombie apocalypse?”

Well, we’re here to answer that question for you, and hopefully share a few tips about preparing for real emergencies too!

Better Safe than Sorry

So what do you need to do before zombies…or hurricanes or pandemics for example, actually happen? First of all, you should have an emergency kit in your house. This includes things like water, food, and other supplies to get you through the first couple of days before you can locate a zombie-free refugee camp (or in the event of a natural disaster, it will buy you some time until you are able to make your way to an evacuation shelter or utility lines are restored). Below are a few items you should include in your kit, for a full list visit the CDC Emergency page.

Water (1 gallon per person per day)
Food (stock up on non-perishable items that you eat regularly)
Medications (this includes prescription and non-prescription meds)
Tools and Supplies (utility knife, duct tape, battery powered radio, etc.)
Sanitation and Hygiene (household bleach, soap, towels, etc.)
Clothing and Bedding (a change of clothes for each family member and blankets)
Important documents (copies of your driver’s license, passport, and birth certificate to name a few)

First Aid supplies (although you’re a goner if a zombie bites you, you can use these supplies to treat basic cuts and lacerations that you might get during a tornado or hurricane)
Once you’ve made your emergency kit, you should sit down with your family and come up with an emergency plan. This includes where you would go and who you would call if zombies started appearing outside your door step. You can also implement this plan if there is a flood, earthquake, or other emergency.

Identify the types of emergencies that are possible in your area. Besides a zombie apocalypse, this may include floods, tornadoes, or earthquakes. If you are unsure contact your local Red Cross chapter for more information.
Pick a meeting place for your family to regroup in case zombies invade your home…or your town evacuates because of a hurricane. Pick one place right outside your home for sudden emergencies and one place outside of your neighborhood in case you are unable to return home right away.

Identify your emergency contacts. Make a list of local contacts like the police, fire department, and your local zombie response team. Also identify an out-of-state contact that you can call during an emergency to let the rest of your family know you are ok.

Plan your evacuation route. When zombies are hungry they won’t stop until they get food (i.e., brains), which means you need to get out of town fast! Plan where you would go and multiple routes you would take ahead of time so that the flesh eaters don’t have a chance! This is also helpful when natural disasters strike and you have to take shelter fast.

Never Fear – CDC is Ready

If zombies did start roaming the streets, CDC would conduct an investigation much like any other disease outbreak. CDC would provide technical assistance to cities, states, or international partners dealing with a zombie infestation. This assistance might include consultation, lab testing and analysis, patient management and care, tracking of contacts, and infection control (including isolation and quarantine). It’s likely that an investigation of this scenario would seek to accomplish several goals: determine the cause of the illness, the source of the infection/virus/toxin, learn how it is transmitted and how readily it is spread, how to break the cycle of transmission and thus prevent further cases, and how patients can best be treated. Not only would scientists be working to identify the cause and cure of the zombie outbreak, but CDC and other federal agencies would send medical teams and first responders to help those in affected areas (I will be volunteering the young nameless disease detectives for the field work).

IT’S drizzling on a grey Saturday morning and the leafy university campus is deserted.
That’s except for the main auditorium, where hundreds of people stream into a lecture theatre where the air is thick with theories and dire warnings, including that next year’s Olympics will be an Independence Day-style bloodbath.

This is the Exopolitics Expo in Leeds last weekend — the UK’s largest UFO conference.

Among the 300 attendees at the three-day event are computer programmers, full-time mums, engineers and even a police detective constable.

But they all have one thing in common — they are all fascinated by the idea that governments are covering up the existence of aliens — and other things besides.

There are stalls selling everything from healing aura scent sprays to DVDs explaining how the world is controlled by influential cartels hell-bent on global domination.

The notion that the Government is covering up the truth is the strongest theme in Ian Crane’s DVD stall at the expo. Dad-of-three Ian, 55, is hoping to spread the word that the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games on August 12 could be a target for a full-scale “alien invasion”.

He said: “I think it will be the perfect setting for a ‘false flag’ invasion, in other words the event will be made to look like an extra-terrestrial invasion but in fact it will be a deception and really the work of the world’s governments, to keep us all living in fear.

“I don’t care if people call me a nutter, I hope that by spreading the word about what’s going to happen I can help save thousands of lives.”

“If enough people know about it in advance then the attack will not be carried out. I’m simply sowing the seed in the mind of the public.”
